Aquarium plants need light, carbon and nutrients in balance — tip it one way and algae moves in. API Leaf Zone feeds stems and leaves through the water, Root Tabs feed heavy root feeders through the substrate, and CO2 Booster supplies usable carbon to tanks without pressurised injection. All three are dosed for fish-stocked tanks and are safe with the livestock already in them.
API CO2 Booster
Liquid carbon for planted tanks. Dose 1 ml per 40 litres daily to fuel photosynthesis, on its own or alongside a pressurised CO2 system. Fish safe, no pH change.

API Root Tabs
Substrate fertiliser tablets with iron, potassium and carbon for swords, crypts and other root feeders. One tablet per 195 cm² of gravel, pushed into the bed. Pack of 10.

Do I need both Leaf Zone and Root Tabs?
It depends on the plants. Stem plants, mosses, ferns and anubias feed mainly through their leaves and do well on Leaf Zone alone; swords, crypts and other rosette plants draw most of their nutrients through their roots and benefit from Root Tabs as well.
Is CO2 Booster a replacement for a CO2 system?
No. It supplies carbon in a form plants can use and suits low-light, low-tech tanks well, but it cannot match the growth a pressurised CO2 system gives a high-light tank. It can be used alongside injected CO2.
Will fertiliser cause algae in my tank?
Dosed as directed, API plant foods feed plants faster than algae can use the nutrients. Algae blooms usually trace back to too much light for the plant mass, or to overfeeding fish, rather than to fertiliser itself.
Are API plant products safe for fish and shrimp?
Yes. Leaf Zone, Root Tabs and CO2 Booster are formulated for tanks with fish and invertebrates in them; keep to the stated dose, particularly with CO2 Booster, which should never be overdosed.
Are API plant fertilisers available in South Africa?
Yes. Jungle Aquatics in Fourways, Johannesburg stocks Leaf Zone, Root Tabs and CO2 Booster and ships nationwide; pricing and stock are on jungleaquatics.com.
